Private Lessons * Group Lessons * Dance Parties

Why dance?

Dance is a great way to get exercise, have fun, make new friends, reduce stress, improve confidence, relieve boredom, express creativity, strengthen your relationships, increase flexibility, develop mind-body coordination, and enjoy the rewards of a lifelong hobby.

What if I don’t have a partner?

You do NOT need a partner for private lessons, group classes, or dance parties. Your instructor will also be your dance partner during private lessons. This is very common & many students with partners choose to also work one-on-one with an instructor because it is the most effective approach. Students dance with one another during group classes & dance parties. This is a valuable way to develop your skills leading or following a variety of partners.

What are the different styles of dance you teach?

We teach American & International styles, as well as popular social dances.

American Rhythm: ChaCha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo

American Smooth: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz

International Latin: ChaCha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive

International Standard: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep

Social: Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Hustle, Jitterbug, West Coast Swing

How will I learn?

Most students at Premiere participate in regular private lessons, group classes, and practice parties at the studio. Private lessons are the most individualized level of instruction. Improvement & retention will be maximized if you participate in group classes & dance parties at the same time.

What will I learn?

If you know what dances you’re interested in, we’ll start with those dances or laying the groundwork towards those dances. If not, we will recommend popular dances that will accelerate your learning process

What should I wear?

We recommend modest, business casual attire and comfortable shoes with a smooth or leather sole. We ask that you bring a pair of shoes to change into until you invest in dance shoes so street shoes are not used on the dance floor.

What if I’ve never danced before, have “two left feet” or “no rhythm”?

Most students have not danced before taking lessons. While it may be easier for those with a background to learn, we relate dance to something you do know a lot about, such as your job or another hobby. Most people who think they have “two left feet” just have not been taught how to move their bodies to music in a way that looks and feels natural. It’s our job to teach you how!

What do Bronze, Silver, & Gold mean?

If you went to a Martial Arts school, you would earn different colors of belts. In the ballroom community, Bronze, Silver and Gold are the standard levels or ranks. Bronze is the beginner or white belt. Bronze is split into several brackets in which you learn different technique and patterns leading into the next level.

How can I practice what I learn?

Group classes and dance parties are a great way to practice what you learn. We teach group classes every evening. They are a wonderful supplement & allow you to practice with multiple partners. We host dance parties at the studio most Fridays so you can practice in a setting similar to that of a wedding or other special event. See our Calendar.

How do I get started?

We offer a free sample lesson & consultation. Lessons are available Monday through Friday 1:00pm until 10:00pm. Weekend lessons are available by appointment. A partner is not necessary, as we teach individuals and couples. Get started and find out if dance is for you!
